Inauguration of Affiliates

The Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus, Calabar Zone in South Eastern Province inaugurated nine (9) Lay Faithful as affiliates of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus on Sunday, 17th March, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Akim Navy Barracks, Calabar.

The candidates had undergone an initial formation for a period of six (6) months, it ended with a three-day retreat from 14th to 16th March 2024, and finally concluded with Confessions and Talk at the Provincialate HHCJ Chapel, Calabar.

First Profession February 2024

Two Novices, Mary Jane and Telma Ebong made their First Profession of Vows in the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus on Thursday, 22nd February, 2024.

After successfully going through the Novitiate formation, and still convinced to serve God and humanity in the Congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus, two young novices Mary Jane Chinemerem Chinedu and Telma Nzelle Ebong pronounced their first vows at Prince of Peace Chapel, Ifuho , in the presence of the Superior General, Mother Germaine Ocansey, HHCJ, General Councillors, Provincial Superiors of North Western Province and South Eastern Province, a good number of Handmaids, priests and religious of other Congregations, family and friends.
